Happy Summer Sustainers!

Welcome to the 2024-2025 Junior League of Dallas Sustainer Year.  I am honored to serve as your 2024-25 JLD Sustainer President.  I am excited to give back to the organization that has been instrumental in preparing me for my volunteer work today, as well as being a source of so many meaningful connections and friendships.

With a nod towards the theme for the JLD active members this year – “Trailblaze”, I’m taking the suggestion of a friend for the Sustainer’s theme to be “Happy Trails”.    As we gather in our activities, service projects, educational opportunities, and events this year – I hope that we can all appreciate and be grateful for our trailblazing years and our happy trails years. There is room for both!

Here are a few notes to keep you updated over the summer.

• Newsletter/Postcard: The Sustainer INSIGHT Summer 2024 Edition will be mailed early August.  The highly requested, ever popular postcard listing the fall programs will arrive later in August.  Special thanks to Communications Chair – Sandy Ammons.
• Sustainer Kick-off: Joanna Clarke and Holly Hassmann are planning a fantastic Fall Kick-off event that you will not want to miss!  Grab a friend and come learn about the fall programs and special interest groups.
• Spring Sustainer Trip: Paige McDaniel, Christie Carter and Beth Thoele have planned an exciting trip for early April 2025.  Date & destination will be announced at Kick-off.
• Special Interest Groups: Elise McVeigh and Liana Yarckin are providing support for 28 topic specific interest groups.  Interest groups taking new members will be at the Kick-off.
• Programs: Laura Johnson, Brooke Bailey, Rea Foster and Heather Bonfield have lined up an AMAZING set of educational, informative, and entertaining programs for the year.    Thank you, in advance, to the ladies that have agreed to plan and chair these events.
• Milestones Luncheon: Debbie Oates has been working with the actives to plan a wonderful event next Spring. Sustainer of the Year and the luncheon speaker will be revealed on Sept 17^th.
