The Community Outreach Committee assesses community needs and initiates Community Impact Projects and Community Grants in response to significant opportunities within the community. These opportunities and issues vary, and can be anything from a center that lost its air conditioning to a food kitchen that had a refrigerator break. Typically, there are problems that arise and fall within the JLD Issue Area Statements, and we can have an impact on helping them continue their critical missions. Helping can include the distribution of monetary grants to the emergency, or short-term needs of area nonprofit agencies, to the creation of a short-term project to assist, among other things.
